A Synthesis of ¥á-D-Allopyranosyl Azide from 4,6-O-protected D-Glucals using Azido Boronate and Molecular Oxygen

Abstract
Treatment of 4,6-O-protected D-glucal derivatives with azido boronate and molecular oxygen in THF afforded 4,6-protected B-D-mannopyranosyl azide and ¥á-D-allopyranosylazide. Transformation and probable mechanism of this method were discussed and the application of this methodology to benzylidene-D-allal was executed successfully. We obtained ¥á-D-allopyranosyl azide and It`s structure was investigated by 2D-NMR (COSY).
